What are the cops up to?

So I recently discovered this site — ScanAthens.com — where people can go to listen to University Police and the Athens-Clarke County Police and Fire departments. It’s basically a recording of the scanner that all the call go out on.

It has links to police zone maps, unit numbers, and the codes and signals police use over the air on the home page.  The audio from the three scanners is continuously recorded and is archived for around 30 days, so you can go back and listen to the audio via the Feed Archive area.

 I’ve talked with the guy who runs the site, and he said many people happen to stumble upon it. It’s really neat, so go check it out and give me some feedback! I’d like to spark some actual conversation on this blog, and I definitely need to update it more, so let’s get it started.
